Discovery: Unfolding the Challenges

The way to identify and tackle unmet needs is to get to grips with what people not only face today but what they could face in years to come. The NextPlays Discovery Challenge is designed to build empathy with the future.

By really growing the collective understanding of what that future could be like for customers, beneficiaries or communities and the businesses and agencies that serve them, NextPlays shifts the focus from what everyone knows is happening now to where those situations and issues might take communities. That way, we can identify and set meaningful, medium-term challenges and time-proof what we do to answer those challenges.

Future-casting workshops help us develop plausible futures/scenarios by researching and questioning the responses of communities, agencies and stakeholders to a range of demanding trends and uncertainties. Specifically, we examine how their resilience will be impacted and how they will make decisions and what unmet needs require support.
